PSTC governing body appoints Dr. Noor Mohammad as its new Executive Director. He has already taken over from our immediate past Executive Director Mr. Fayez Mohammad Mostaque who retires on completion of his 60 years of age as per PSTC service rules. Before joining PSTC, Dr. Noor worked as Director Programs with UCEP Bangladesh. He did also worked with UNFPA as Assistant Representative in Bangladesh and led two components: Gender and Population & Development.

A known professional in the arena of Public Health, Dr. Noor initially started his career with BCS cadre, later he moved to development field in 1990. He worked about 11 years with USAID funding mechanism and about another 11 years with UN agency in managing and providing technical assistance to developmental assistance program. He comes with wide experiences of working with govt., NGOs, INGOs, UN bodies, research organizations, development agencies in different portfolios. Teaching is one of his passions thus he has been teaching at tertiary (university) level both in public and private universities for more than 7 years.

As regards his academic background, Dr. Noor is having a PhD in Population Education and Masters in Geography, Education and Public Health. He achieved the Best Student Award from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH), USA for scoring highest grade point average in MPH. He was also awarded 'Population Leadership Award' from the University of Washington, USA.

Having vast experiences of more than three decades in both program and research, Dr. Noor traveled widely across the countries to share his experiences through presenting papers in international meetings and conferences. He is also having the experience in chairing and facilitating different technical meetings at national and international levels.

One of the leading experts on youth issues in Bangladesh and in the region, Dr. Noor Mohammad was actively involved in facilitating first-ever national Adolescent Reproductive Health Strategy for Bangladesh which was formulated through an inter-ministerial committee.
