PSTC MOURNS THE DEPARTURE OF ITS FOUNDER

Veteran freedom fighter, one of the chief accused of Agartala Conspiracy Case, one of the Architects in re-building Bangladesh Navy and founder of Population Services and Training Center (PSTC), Commander (Rtd.) Abdur Rouf has passed away on 27 February 2015. We, the PSTC family deeply mourn his departure.

A person of versatile qualities Commander (Rtd.) Abdur Rouf was born on 11 November 1933 at Tulatuli of Raipura thana, Narsingdi at his maternal grandfather's house. He was raised in Bhairab, his ancestry's house. He was having multiple hats on his head and was known as an Organizer, a Soldier, a Leader, a Writer, a Professional, a Teacher, a Pathfinder, a Thinker, a Philosopher, a Politician, a Reader, a Historian, an Intellectual, a Patriot, a Farsighted, and many more.

PSTC evolved under the leadership of this eminent citizen of the nation and successful professional, Commander (Rtd) Abdur Rouf. He had been the first-ever Chief Executive of the then FPSTC. Later on, he led the initiatives to turn a project into an organization known today as PSTC and became the Founder of the organization.

In his departure, not only PSTC lost its guardian, the development community in Bangladesh lost an Initiator and the nation has lost a person of big height and an eminent citizen. We pray for his departed soul and May Almighty rest his soul in eternal peace!
